Clann Na nGael 3-15 Creggs 0-08
The Samz Tavern Junior B’s defeated Creggs in Johnstown on Friday evening. From the start Clann got stuck in and soon were three points to one up with points from Conor Duignan and Fergal Shine but by the midpoint of the first half Creggs had equalised with their fourth point. From then to half-time Clann proceeded to score 2-4 without reply, to effectively end the game as a contest. Two points from Conor Duignan sandwiched a point on the run from wingback Cormac Harney before midfielder James Keegan rifled a great goal to the net. This was quickly followed up by a goal from Niall Lennon after a good effort from Keith O’Neill came off the upright. Substitute Mark Duignan who replaced the injured Fergal Shine was first to register a score in the second half and he added two more points by the 20th minute. Then substitute Padraig Seery placed Donal Beirne beautifully for his 2nd point before Padraig gave the Creggs goalkeeper no chance with a low drive into the bottom corner of the net to leave Clann 16 points winners.
Team: Ray Griffith, Shane Gavin, Paul Curley, Michael Haugh, Cormac Harney 0-1, Paul Whyte, Morgan Keena, Colin Nicholson, James Keegan 1-1, Donal Beirne 0-2, Connor Duignan 0-6 (1f), Niall Lennon 1-0, Mark Whyte, Fergal Shine 0-2 (1f), Keith O’Neill.
