Athlone Midland Samaritans would like to thank everyone in Drum and Clonown who contributed so generously to their recent church gate collection. The total collected was €484.38. Care to drive
Patients in need of transport to and from their chemotherapy treatments (including bloods, consultant appointments, follow-ups, etc.) can avail of 'Care to drive' - a free transport service to Portiuncla Hospital. Cross River Anglers
Senior, junior, juvenile competitions on Sunday 30th June. Starting at the mill at 2pm.

Dr. Stevens Centre
A limited number of second-hand secondary school uniforms for sale at a greatly reduced cost. All money raised will go to St. Hilda's School.

6th Annual Roscommon Play Day
On Sunday 7th July in Lough Key Forest Park, 2-6pm. Opening by the Mayor. Free activities on the day include Lough Key Activity Centre, face painting, soccer, Rosamba dance, arts and crafts, hip hop dancing etc. Everyone is welcome. We extend our congratulations to Fr John McManus, CC, Ss. Peter & Paul's, who has been appointed Parish Priest of Ballagh, Co. Roscommon. Fr John has been serving in our parish for the past few years and will take up his new appointment in July, following the appointment of Fr. Ray Browne, PP Ballagh as Bishop of Kerry.

Congratulations to Bishop John Kirby, Bishop of Confert and native of Baylough, Athlone on the Golden Jubilee of his ordination on 23rd June 1963.

Monksland Summer Camp

Annual Mass at Drum Monastic Site - Sunday 16th June
All parishioners are invited to take part in the religious ceremonies in Drum on Sunday 16th June, commencing with a Rosary Procession from St. Brigid's Well at 3pm followed by concelebrated open-air Mass at 3.30pm at Drum Monastic Site. There will be a special blessing at the graveside of Very Rev. Fr. Walter Walsh P.P. who for 22 years ministered as Parish Priest of St. Peter's and Drum.

Clonown Graveyard Survey
Almost a century of records relating to Clonown cemetery are being put together by the local heritage group. Preliminary results are now displayed in Clonown church. Anyone with relatives buried in the cemetery is invited to check the data on display and to note any errors or omissions. It is hoped to have a map listing all the plots erected in the cemetery by Sunday 11th August. Email clonownheritage@gmail.com or phone 090-6437143.

Brideswell Pattern Festival Launch
All are welcome to attend the launch of the Pattern Festival in O'Connell's Bar in Brideswell on Thursday 27th June at 9.30pm. The Festival is taking place from 25-29th July 2013, and will include a range of events to suit all ages including a number of heritage events in association with The Gathering which will be of particular interest to the communities in the South Roscommon area.

Athlone Midland Samaritans annual church gate collection takes place in Drum and Clonown churches on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th June. Please help us to support those who may need us. Elphin Diocesan Lourdes Invalid Fund Annual Church Gate Collection

Permanent Diaconate
The Diocese of Elphin is now accepting applications from married and single men who may feel called to ministry as Permanent Deacons. The four year part-time training programme will begin in autumn 2013. Ladies, want to have some fun while exercising? Why not join us Wednesdays at 8.30pm at Clann na nGael in Johnstown for fun, craic and some football. No previous experience necessary! Applicable to all ladies over 18 years of age.

Youth Pilgrimage to Lourdes
The parish has been allocated two places on the Youth section of the Elphin Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes (28th August - 2nd September). The parish will cover half of the cost for both youths. To apply or for more information, please contact Drum Parish Office 090-6437125.

Marriage Jubilee Celebration
Invitation to couples who are celebrating the anniversary of their marriage (10, 15, 20, 25, 40, 50, 60, 65 years) to participate in the Annual Diocesan Jubilee Celebration of Marriage, which will take place in Sligo Cathedral on Sunday 30th June at 3pm.
