Semi-Finals
All roads lead to Kiltoom next weekend as both the senior semi-final against Padraig Pearses on Sunday (4.30pm) and the Junior B mid-south semi-final against St Brigids on Saturday (5pm) are due to be played at this venue. Meanwhile the Junior A Q/Final replay between Clann and Kilglass Gaels is due to be played in Kilbride on Friday night. Although with so much activity on this weekend and time and travel involved lets make the effort and ensure that all teams get large support.

The Boys U-12 Division 3 team travelled up to Ballyfarnon last night and came away with another great victory defeating St Ronans 6-10 to 0-9.

Senior Championship Quarter-Final Replay
Kiltoom, September 6th 2008
Clann na nGael 0-11 Elphin 0-8

The seniors qualified for the County Semi-Final courtesy of a hard fought victory over Elphin on Saturday evening in Kiltoom. After three draws it was a very disciplined and economical performance from Clann, which was the platform for this victory, with a wides count akin to Kilkenny's in Sunday's final. It was great team effort with the substitutes also making vital contributions but players like Ronan O'Reilly in goal, Niall McManus, Kenneth Dowling, David Kelly and Matt Scally showed incredible heart. Donie Shine was once flawless from placed balls and young Cathal Shine showing his range of skills before retiring from injury. This Sunday at 4.30pm Clann will renew an old rivalry with Padraig Pearses in an all-south Semi-Final. The teams haven't played each other in the championship since the mid-90s, so there will be keen interest from the neighbouring townlands in this upcoming battle.
Elphin were first on the scoreboard with a well taken score from Brian Higgins but Clann soon equalised through a Donie Shine free. Elphin re-took the lead only for Matt Scally to equalise once more with a good point from play. Two more Elphin points put them in the driving seat. Clann were under pressure and it was during this spell that Ronan O'Reilly deflected a powerful drive for a 45', but a Donie Shine free and a great point from Enda Kenny from a tight angle brought Clann back into the game and two more frees from Donie gave Clann a two point cushion at half-time.
Elphin came out eager to make up the  lost ground after the break and immediately scored a point from John Collins which was quickly followed by a Fintan Cregg point. But they would only score two more points for the remainder of the half as Clann put the squeeze on them. Donie Shine struck his fifth free and the same player added a good point from play with his left foot. An Elphin free reduced the margin to the minimum but Clann substitute Darragh Lennon, as cool as you like, struck over a great point from the left side from a standing position. Johnny Dunning gave Clann a three point cushion before Elphin reduced the margin to two points. Ronan O'Reilly was forced to rush from goal to block a Elphin attack before deep in injury time that experienced warrior David Kelly lofted a high ball from over on the left side with his left foot towards the Elphin goal, it seemed to hang in the air for an eternity before landing on the net and sparking an enormous cheer from the Clann faithful. The full-time whistle followed shortly and Clann had finally shaken the monkey off their backs, the famine as regards championship wins was over.
Team: Ronan O'Reilly, Kenny Dowling, Denis Gavin, Ray Fallon, Oliver Harney, David Flynn, Niall McManus, Gary Shine, Brian Goode, David Kelly 0-1, Matt Scally 0-1, Donal Shine 0-6(5f), Enda Kenny 0-1, Johnny Dunning 0-1, Cathal Shine.
Subs: Mark Shine, Darragh Lennon 0-1, Sean Walshe, Paul Bruce.

Junior A Championship Q/F
Clann na nGael 2-6 Kilglass Gaels 0-12
A tremendous battling performance from the Junior A team on Sunday earned them a well deserved draw against championship favourites Kilglass Gaels in Ballyleague. After losing several players to the senior squad over the last few weeks, the lads threw caution to the wind and got stuck into Kilglass from the start. Goals from Ian Lacey and David O'Neill in the first half ensured Clann only trailed by a point at half-time and the introduction of substitutions  Keith O'Neill and James Keegan provided the necessary scores to earn the draw. There were many great performances from players like Mark Killian, JP Dunning, Cormac Harney and Graham Petit.
Team: Phelim O'Neill, Mark Killian, Eugene Petit, Kevin Naughton, Cormac Harney, Paul Dunning, Morgan Keena, Emmet Rock, David O'Neill 1-0, Ronan Killian, Cormac Duignan 0-1, JP Dunning, Ian Lacey1-2, Graham Petit, Ian O'Reilly.
Subs: James Keegan 0-1, Keith O'Neill 0-2.

Minor Championship
Clann na nGael 4-12 Eire Og 0-4
The minors qualified for the County Semi-Final courtesy of a good win over Eire Og in Johnstown on Tuesday. Ground conditions were slippery after all the rain but Clann managed to produce some good football in spite of this. Darragh Lennon got the ball rolling with the first point from play and  this was followed with points from Martin Lennon and John Harney before a Cathal Shine goal left Clann leading by five points. Eire Og then hit two quick points by the 22nd minute of the half to leave just three in it, while stout defending from Cathal Duignan, Andrew McNamara and Cormac Harney kept the Eire Og attack at bay before Clann hit a five minute scoring burst before half-time. Wing back Niall O'Connor scored two great points and impressive high fielding by Cathal Shine set Darragh Lennon up for another point. Owen Connaughton finished a good passing move over the bar before Cathal Shine wrapped up first half proceedings with another goal. Half-time Clann 2-7 Eire Og 0-3.
Two more points from Darragh Lennon gave Clann further breathing space before Cathal Cunniffe volleyed a Martin Lennon centre passed the Eire Og Goalkeeper. There were further points from Cathal Cunniffe and Cathal Shine before the former scored his second goal with a fine finish. Clann will have to improve if they are to get the better of Roscommon Gaels in the Semi-Final but it was still a fine display for there first competitive outing in weeks.
Team: Cathal Hannon, Keith Kildea, Kevin Naughton, Cathal Duignan, Niall O'Connor 0-2, Cormac Harney, Andrew McNamara, John Harney 0-1, Daniel Qualter, Owen Connaughton 0-1, Cathal Shine 2-2, Darragh Lennon 0-4(1f), Martin Lennon 0-1, Cathal Cunniffe 2-1, Donal Beirne.
Subs: Thomas Keogh, Emmet Higgins, Emmet Kenny, Neil Harney
