Coffee Morning
A coffee morning in aid of Sr. Helena McEvilly’s Mission in Nigeria will be held in Drum Parish Hall after the 10am mass on Sunday 7th April. Your support would be very much appreciated.

Farm Plastic Collection
There will be a collection of waste silage plastic at Joe Duffy's Lakeland Enterprise Centre, Ballydangan (Moore turn) on Monday 8th April between 9am and 5pm. For further information contact: FRS Network 071-9662781 or 086-2521699.

Clonown Community Centre AGM
The Annual General Meeting of Clonown Community Centre Committee will take place on Tuesday 9th April at 8.30pm.

Clonown Church Refurbishment Collection
Thanks to the generosity of the people from Clonown and surrounding areas and friends of Clonown, the second collection for the church refurbishment will finish on Easter Sunday. However, people can still give donations towards seats in the church. It has been suggested that there will be a second collection for the month of April, the proceeds of which will go towards the maintenance of the graveyard, as funding from Roscommon County Council has been drastically reduced.

Clonown Community Alert
Clonown branch of Community Alert wish to thank all those who contributed to the recent church collection. A total of €175 was raised. Community Alert is under the umbrella of Muintir na Tíre but the money collected in Clonown will go towards providing alarms etc in the Clonown area.

Clonown 10K Run and Walk
The 4th annual 10K run/walk will take place in Clonown on Sunday 28 April. A generous prize fund exists and there will be spot prizes on the day. The same 10K route will be used as last year but in reverse order, which means the finishing line will be at the community centre, where the renowned tea, sandwiches and hospitality will be available after the race. The routes are very flat through beautiful countryside and are ideal for those aiming for a personal best or those completing their first 5k or 10k run. Starting times as follows: 1.30pm for 10K walk; 2.30pm for 5K run; 3pm for 10k run. Please allow at least 30 minutes to register before the start. In association with Roscommon Sports Partnership. Training every Sunday morning at 10am sharp from Clann na nGael club house, Johnstown. All ages catered for.

Penitential Rite
A number of priests will be available for individual confessions at the penance service on Monday 25th March at 8pm in Ss. Peter & Paul's Church.

Progressive 25 Card Game
In aid of Drum Apostolic Work will be held in the Clann na nGael Clubhouse, Johnstown on Monday 25th March at 9pm. Food Hampers and many other prizes. Please support our Missionaries.

Outdoor Stations of the Cross
On Good Friday 29th March starting at 12 noon from St. Mary's Church, through the streets of Athlone and finishing at Ss. Peter & Paul's Church.

Easter Bingo in Drum this Good Friday night
Drum Bingo will host an Easter special in Drum Community Centre on Good Friday night at 8.30pm. Doors open at 8pm. Usual cash prizes to be won, plus 24 Easter Eggs to be given away on the night. Monster raffle also. Everybody welcome.

Easter Envelopes and Easter Cards
Will be distributed to each home in the parish during the coming week by your local area collector/distributor. Your continued generosity is greatly appreciated.

Monksland Active Age
Enjoy a mornings relaxation in Monksland Community Centre every Thursday morning at 10.30am. Meet friends, have a chat, craic, dancing, music and storytelling. Organised day trips during the year. Rehab People of the Year Awards
The closing date for nominations is 21 March, which is only a few days away. This is an ideal opportunity to recognise voluntary contributions of people in our community and recognise them. We are blessed in Athlone that there are so many people who give of their time to charities, to sports clubs, to arts groups, to community organisations and to neighbours. You can nominate anyone who you think should be recognised for their contribution to our community, to a person, whom you think makes a difference to peoples lives. The nomination can be done on line at www.westmeathindependent.ie/peopleoftheyear or you can fill in the form in the Westmeath Independent or pick up a form at the back of the church.

Coffee and comhrá morning
A new 'ciorcal comhrá' (Irish conversation group) will be launched with a coffee morning this Saturday 16th March from 11am-1pm in St. Ciarán's House, St. Mary's Square, Athlone. The coffee morning follows the successful Irish film night held last week and marks the end of Seachtain na Gaeilge. Further details available from Gaeilge Átha Luain or just come along to the coffee morning. Beidh míle fáilte romhat - all are welcome.

SVP Paddy Run
The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul (SVP) 'Paddy Run' is a 10k run or 5km walk on St Patrick's Day, Sunday 17th March. Starting at 10am from Athlone Regional Sports Centre. Register online at www.racedates.ie or register on the morning. Come out and support your local SVP.

Thank You
The Society of African Missions (SMA) is very grateful to the parishioners of Ss. Peter & Paul, Athlone for the welcome and support given during the recent Mission Awareness weekend. The donations received for the missionary work of the SMA in Africa came to €1,252.50. Thank you all very much for your kindness and generous response.
