Irish Cancer Society

Charity tax relief forms are available from Drum Parish Office or at the back of the Church. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

Fighting Blindness - Thank You
Thank you to everyone who supported the church gate collection on 3rd-4th May. The collection in Drum raised €261.40 for Fighting Blindness, an Irish, patient-led organisation funding research into treatments and cures for blindness and is 90% funded by community fundraising. Your support is very much appreciated.

Taughmaconnell Join Our Boys
Raffle tickets are now in circulation for an auction and raffle taking place on Saturday May 31st in McHughs, Taughmaconnell. We would really appreciate any support you can give. Items for auction include a signed Irish Rugby jersey, a signed Irish Soccer jersey, a signed Phil Taylor dart board and much more. Thanks to all sponsors.

Project Dawn
Information day will take place on Tuesday 27th May at Monksland Community Centre from 10am to 2pm. Are you in receipt of a Disability/Illness related payment? If so, Project DAWN can help you in developing a career plan and exploring new opportunities? To find out more about the project and who can avail of it, call in for a coffee and a chat. For more information call Sinead Hanley on 090-6664003. A Disability Activation Project managed by Pobal and jointly funded by the European Social Fund and the Department of Social Protection.

Dean Kelly N.S.
Past pupil Paddy McCaul, President of the FAI, will raise the school's first Green Flag on Thursday, 29th May at 11am. Music by the Army Band. Refreshments will be served. A warm welcome is extended to everyone in the community to join in the celebrations.

Drum Clonown Community Games
Track and field events has been rescheduled to take place on this Monday 19th May commencing at 6.30pm at Clann na nGael pitch, Johnstown.

Fundraising Golf Classic
In aid of Ss. Peter & Paul's Church Restoration Fund on Friday 23rd May in Athlone Golf Club. Cost: €200 per team including dinner. €100 to sponsor a tee box or green. For further information contact the Parish Office 090-6492171 or 087-2363039.

New Bishop
Congratulations to Fr. Kevin Doran who was this week announced as new Bishop of Elphin. Fr. Kevin is currently serving as Administrator of Donnybrook parish in the Archdiocese of Dublin. He will be ordained Bishop for the Diocese of Elphin later in the summer, following the retirement of Christy Jones, who has served as Bishop of Elphin for twenty years.

Athlone Midland Samaritans would like to thank everyone who contributed so generously to their recent church gate collection. A special thank you also to the collectors who gave so generously of their time.
