Match Reports
Clann Seniors produced a great comeback to earn a draw with Western Gaels in Frenchpark on Saturday evening in the Championship. Trailing by four points with ten minutes left in he match, Clann had duly equalised with 3 minutes to go with three points from Donie Shine and the a great score from Jonathon Dunning. However Western Gaels retook the lead with a free only for Clann midfielder Gary Shine to kick a long range point deep in injury time. Clann had started well with points from David Kelly and Donie Shine before Western Gaels started to find their range to lead four points to two. Clann were playing well despite facing into the stiff breeze and soon lead again when a move started in defence with a brilliantly timed tackle by Ray Fallon and the ball was swept up the field where Enda Kenny set up Jonathon Dunning for a well placed goal. Western Gaels lead at half-time by 0-7 to 1-2 and started the second half as if they were going to pull away but Clann stayed with them before producing the dramatic finish. They now play St Faithleachs in Johnstown in two weeks for a place in the Quarter-Final.
Team: Ronan O'Reilly, Kenny Dowling, Denis Gavin, Ray Fallon, Niall Shine, David Flynn, Niall McManus, Gary Shine 0-1, Brian Goode, Enda Kenny, Matt Scally, Ross Naughton, Donal Shine0-5(3f), Johnny Dunning 1-2, David Kelly 0-1. Subs used; David Lennon, David Henry.

Clann U-16 Ladies had a good win over Elphin in the first round of the U-16 championship last Thursday in Johnstown. They now play Strokestown away this Wednesday in the next round.
Team; Amy Rooney, Leanne O'Connor, Deirdre O'Neill, Jennifer Duignan, Louise Curley, Edel Flynn, Amy Curley, Kimberley Finlass, Blana Gately, Karen Nicholson, Gillian Egan, Aileen McEvilly, Aoife McManus, Katie Ward, Zoe Shine. Subs used; Gillian Wall, Orla O'Neill, Rebecca Naughton, Anna Shine.

Best of luck to Cathal Shine, Kevin Naughton and Darragh Lennon who are part of the Roscommon Minor panel that play Tyrone in Longford next Saturday in the All-Ireland Quarter Final.
