Under 14 Championship
Clann na nGael 1–11 St. Brigid's 1–2
Clann na nGael under 14s claimed top spot in their championship group following an impressive win over near neighbours St. Brigid's on Thursday last. The Clann lads came out on top in a match that had a lot to offer in terms of entertainment. The first half was a tight affair with scores being exchanged throughout. A goal just before the break gave the Clann lads a huge boost which spurred them on to widen the gap between the sides in the second half. Some tremendous tackling and teamwork, characteristics of the under-14s play all year, were at the heart of this crucial win. The runners-up in Group A await Clann na nGael in the semi-final.
Team: Brandon Ryan; Damien Duff, Gary Nicholson, Luke Dolan, Niall Connaughton, Seán McManus, Kieran Connaughton; Eoin Hannon, Cathal Shields, Ciarán Lennon, David McManus, Darragh Lennon; Ian Naughton (Brian Hannon), Seán McManus, David Griffin. Subs: David Ward, Darragh Kildea, Peter Foley, David Finneran, Eoin Cunningham, Cian Mulvey, Patrick O'Brien, Lorcan Glynn, Colm Johnson, Kevin Kelly, Mark Maloney, Ronan McAlery.

This year the draw has been restructured with the number of prizes being increased from 15 to 22 and the number of draws increased to three. The first draw takes place in July and has a top prize of €10,000, a 2nd prize of €3000 and two further prizes of €1000. The second draw takes place in September and also has a top prize of €10,000, a 2nd prize of €3000 and two further prizes of €1000. The final, and biggest draw, takes place in October and has a top prize of €15,000 and thirteen more prizes ranging from €5000 to €1000. In addition to supporting the county finances, the draw is also an important source of funding for Clubs and Clubs had received €400,000 in commission from ticket sales since the draw commenced as a source of funding in 2006.

Under 14 League
Clann na nGael under 14s ended their Division 1 league campaign with an impressive win over near neighbours Padraig Pearses on Thursday last. Following on from their recent fine performances, Clann were out of the blocks early with some fine scores. On a perfect evening for football Clann moved the ball quickly throughout and went in with a commanding lead at the break. Not easing off in the second half, the Clann lads killed off the game by tagging on point after point in the closing stages. Clann will be hoping to carry this impressive run of form into their championship campaign in the coming weeks.

Best of Luck
The club would like to wish Roscommon all the best when they take on Leitrim in the Connaught semi final on Sunday. Donal Shine and Jonathon Duning are on the panel. On Saturday, the Roscommon u14 team take on Tiperary in the All Ireland Final. Clann will be represented by Shauna Connell, Teresse Lennon and Shauna Bannon, while Gerry Lennon is a selecter. Best of luck to all involved.
