At Connaughton's Pub, Clonark on Sunday 28th August from 5pm. All proceeds go to Motor Neurone.

Invitation
Fr. Michael McManus welcomes all those involved in any way in the parish or community to come along to Drum Parish Hall this Tuesday evening 30th August at 8pm for a cup of tea and a chat. All those involved with the church or any organisation in the parish are welcome to attend.

Farewell Function
For Fr. Ray Milton will be held in the Shamrock Lodge Hotel on Friday 30th September. All are welcome. Donation envelopes will be distributed to all homes in the parish this week for those who wish to make a contribution.

Drum Heritage Group

Recommencing on Monday 5th September at 10.30am in Drum Parish Hall. New members most welcome.

Post Leaving Cert Courses 2011/12
Childcare (FETAC level 5) and Supervision in Childcare (FETAC level 6) at St. Joseph's College, Summerhill, Athlone. Registration/information on Tuesday 30th August at 10am or by appointment.

Monksland United Youth Soccer Team
New team are staring training for players born in 1994 and 1995 at Cushla Park, Monksland on Tuesday evenings at 7pm. All welcome.

Volunteers
Athlone Samaritans are looking for new volunteers. Information meetings will be held in Shamrock Lodge Hotel on Tuesday 30th August at 8pm and on Thursday 8th September at 8pm.

In aid of Ss. Peter & Paul's Church Restoration Fund on Tuesday 22nd September at 8pm in Ss. Peter & Paul's Church. Concert will feature An Garda Síochána Band, Breda O'Connor and Cór Scoil na gCeithre Máistrí. Athlone Architectural Heritage Group
Exhibition depicting old Athlone personalities, including photos, history and heritage of the town. Venue: Church Street, beside Donal Hynes Auctioneers, from Sunday 21st to Saturday 27th August. This event is part of a natiopnwide programme to celebrate National Heritage Week. The event is free and all are welcome.

Takes place 26th, 27th and 28th August. Commences on Friday with an exhibition in St. Joseph's at 3pm , adoration and holy hour at 5pm, film at 7pm, mass with Bishop Christopheer Jones at 8.30pm.

Senior relegation play-off
Clann na nGael 1-11 St. Aidan's 0-7
The Clann na nGael senior team preserved their senior status for the 2012 season with a victory over St Aidan's on Sunday in Kiltoom. The club would like to wish David Kelly a speedy recovery following a facial injury during the game on Sunday. Get well soon.

Annual Pilgrimage takes place on Sunday 21st August during the Novena. Ceremonies began at 2.30pm with Anointing of the Sick followed by Con-celebrated Mass at 3pm. A bus will depart from St. Peter's, Athlone at 10.30am. Booking essential. Contact 086-1960256.

Clann na nGael 75th Anniversary

1936 - 2011
Clann na nGael GAA Club will celebrate their 75th anniversary this weekend, Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th August 2011.

The celebrations will commence in Croke Park on Saturday morning when club members depart for Johnstown on a fund-raising cycle for the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association. It is hoped that  a large crowd will gather to greet the group as they arrive in Johnstown between 4-5pm. Brendan Shine will provide the entertainment on Saturday night in the Marquee at the Clubhouse. Tickets €10.

Mass will be celebrated in the 3 churches on Sunday morning, followed by an afternoon of fun, games and entertainment for all the family, in and outside the clubhouse. The celebrations commence at 12pm with tea and sandwiches and live music. The official celebrations will include meeting and greeting GAA celebraties, past and present, to share stories and reminisce. A drama by Liam Dunne will be performed, followed by the re-enactment of the 1937 McCrann Cup between Clann na nGael and Caulry featuring players past and present from the club.

The celebrtations will conclude after the match on Sunday evening with a barbecue and live music by the Coyles. (Tickets available separately for the BBQ). 

The Club Museum will display a variety of memorabilia to mark the 75th anniversary.

All are welcome to join in the celebrations.
