Club Holiday
There are six places remaining on this year's club holiday to Lanzarote, departing Sunday 14th October and returning Sunday 21st October. Full cost is €485 per person. Pieta House West - Charity Cycle
A cycle will take place on Saturday 25th August in aid of Pieta House West, Tuam, County Galway. Two cycle route options: 85kms (Galway to Johnstown, one way) or 170km (Johnstown to Galway and back again). Anyone who wishes to take part in this event or support this worthy cause can get sponsorship cards from: Paddy 087-2487340, Joey 086-2670012 or Pádraig 085-2889025. Cycle training every Sunday morning from Clann na nGael, Johnstown at 9am sharp. All welcome, beginners especially - nothing too strenuous to get started with.

All-Ireland Minor Quarter-Final
Roscommon will play Kerry in the Electric Ireland GAA Football All-Ireland Minor Quarter-Final on Sunday 5th August at 12pm in Páirc an Chrócaigh. There are also two games in the GAA Football All-Ireland Senior Quarter-Finals on the same day: Cork v Kildare at 2pm and Donegal v Kerry at 4pm. Ticket Prices are as follows: Stand €30, Terrace €20. Concession details are as follows: Juvenile Stand €5 (Juvenile must be accompanied by adult. Juvenile tickets available for all sections in the Cusack & Davin Stands); Senior Citizens and Students who purchase a ticket for the Cusack or Davin Stands can claim a €10 refund from Block D turnstiles to rear of Cusack Stand prior to entry. Minor Ladies
Well done to Roscommon Minor Ladies who won the All-Ireland B semi-final against Cavan at the weekend. Clann were represented by Orla O'Neill and Kayleigh Dunning, who both added to the scoreline, (Kayleigh 2-2 and Orla 1-1). The team now go on to meet Clare in the All-Ireland B Final on the August Bank Holiday weekend.

Knock Summer Youth Festival
A free one day festival for young people aged 17-30 on Saturday 28 July, beginning at 12 noon and finishing at 6pm. The day is different to any other you will experience with amazing talks, workshops, music, prayer, reflection, loads of time to meet new people and chill out. The festival is free, all you have to pay for is your food. Under 18s must have parental consent to attend. Fr. Denis Gavin - Golden Jubilee
Fr. Denis Gavin wishes to thank the Clonown Pastoral Committee for organising a beautiful Mass Liturgy and presentation to honour his Golden Jubilee of ordination to the Priesthood. Thanks also to the choir, sacristan Willie Shine, the Priests of the parish and Concelebrants and all those who attended the celebrations. Thanks also to the people who supplied the refreshments and those who took care of the decorations in Clonown Community Centre.

Elphin Diocesan Lourdes Assisted Pilgrims Fund
Thank you to all who supported the recent church gate collection at Ss. Peter & Paul's, Drum and Clonown churches. A total of €1,696.33 was collected. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Invite you to their 24/7 event for family carers and the person they care for. It takes place on 24th July in Kilbride Community Centre, Four Mile House and is called 24/7 given the date and month it takes place but most importantly to depict the 24 hours a day, 7 days a week people care. Children and Young Carers are encouraged to attend also with special fun events planned. Mass at 12 noon celebrated by Bishop Jones, followed by refreshments/entertainment for the afternoon. Donation €5. RSVP to Alison on 086-7957086 before 15th July.

The Annual Diocesan Jubilee Celebration of Marriage will take place in Ss. Peter & Paul's Church, Athlone on Sunday 22nd July at 3pm with Mass celebrated by Bishop Jones. After Mass, there will be a buffet meal in the Shamrock Lodge Hotel.

Please note that as and from Monday 16th July the bollard at the entrance to Ss. Peter & Paul's Church will be reactivated. This means it will only be lowered for all Mass times and religious services.

Eucharistic Adoration

Clann na nGael Notes

Tansey Cup
Well done to the Clann na nGael B team who qualified for the final of the Tansey Cup on Saturday evening thanks to a good win over Elphin B. They will now be playing for the O’Gara Cup next year.

Ros Comáin Abú!
Next weekend is a big one for the county with the minors in the Connacht final against Mayo and also the seniors take on Tyrone in the second round of the qualifiers. The best of luck to the Clann contingent on both teams, who have done us proud so far. Here’s hoping the minors can retain their Connacht crown.

Athlone branch hold their annual family dog walk on Sunday 15th July. Registration at 3pm in Coosan Church car park. Please support this worthy cause.

There will be a candlelight ceremony and Renewal of Mairage Vows, with each couple receiving a candle and parchment in remembrance of this special occasion. After Mass, there will be a buffet meal in the Shamrock Lodge Hotel. Cost is €25 per couple, €15 per adult guest of each couple, and €10 for every child under 15. If you are celebrating your Diamond (60), Golden (50), Ruby (40), Pearl (30), Silver (25) anniversary, or 5/10/15/20 years of marriage, please register with the Parish Office 090-6492171 by Tuesday 10th July at the latest.
