Under 16 Semi Final
Clann na nGael 2-15 Roscommon Gaels 4-3
The Clann na nGael under 16 team reached this year's county final at the expense of Roscommon Gaels on Tuesday evening last in Kiltoom. Clann were slow out of the traps and trailed the Gaels by 2-0 to 0-1 after the opening exchanges. Clann rallied before the break and led by 1-8 to 2-1 at the break. Clann increased their lead with 2 points from Rian McNamara, but Gaels rattled the Clann net once again to leave the game in the melting pot. The game was right in the mix up until the very end but Clann ran out deserving winners of a pulsating game.

Under 16 County Final
The Clann na nGael under 16 team will take on Boyle in the county final on Saturday next at 4pm in Strokestown. The lads have been playing some fine football and have bet Boyle, St Brigid's, St Croan's and Roscommon Gaels on route to the final. The lads really appreciated the support they received for the semi final. A large crowd will be needed to roar the lads on against a strong Boyle side on Saturday. Best of luck lads!

Minor Quarter Final
Clann na nGael 1-9 Padraig Pearses 0-9
The Clann na nGael minor team took on and bet a highly fancied Padraig Pearses in Woodmount on Thursday evening last. The Clann teamed displayed an abundance of skill and guts to win this game and they now play Boyle in the semi final.

Athlone Architectural Heritage Group
Exhibition depicting old Athlone personalities, including photos, history and heritage of the town. Venue: Church Street, beside Donal Hynes Auctioneers, from Sunday 21st to Saturday 27th August. This event is part of a natiopnwide programme to celebrate National Heritage Week. The event is free and all are welcome.

The Clann na nGael senior team preserved their senior status for the 2012 season with a victory over St Aidan's on Sunday in Kiltoom. The club would like to wish David Kelly a speedy recovery following a facial injury during the game on Sunday. Get well soon.
