Drum Clonown Community Games
Athletics will take place on Sunday 3rd May at 6pm at Clann na nGael pitches, Johnstown. Registration takes place from 5.30pm. Entry €2 per event per child. Events as follows: U8 Boys & Girls - 60 & 80 metres; U10 Boys & Girls - 100 & 200 metres & 60m Hurdles; U12 Boys & Girls - 100 & 600 metres; U14 Boys & Girls - 100 & 800 metres & 80m Hurdles; U16 Boys & Girls - 100 & 1500 metres.

Drum I.C.A.
Monthly Meeting in Drum Parish Hall on Tuesday 5th May at 8pm sharp. Please note change of time. All members are requested to attend. New members most welcome.

Darkness into Light
Event in aid of Pieta House takes place across Ireland on Saturday morning 9th May at 4.15am. Pieta House is the centre for the prevention of suicide and self-harm. Full details on http://dil.pieta.ie/

Cake Sale
Clann na nGael Ladies GAA will hold a cake sale on Sunday 17th May in Johnstown Club House starting at 11am. All contributions to same would be greatly appreciated and tea/coffee served on the day also. Contact Lesley O' Neill at 087-7740123 or Fidelma Lennon at 087-2079785 for more details.

Tuesday 5th May is the last day for registering for the supplementary register of electors for the upcoming referendums. Visit www.checktheregister.ie and make sure you're registered to vote.

Support your local Post Office
Please support your local Post Office and Community and avoid paying fees by moving your Social Protection Payments from the bank and collect them at your local Post Office. The Irish Postmasters' Union have provided a Transfer Form which you can use to request a transfer.

Thank you
The family and friends of Eoghan McManus (Nure, Cornafulla, Athlone) who organised the Card Game in Clann na nGael Clubhouse last Monday evening in aid of St. Raphael's Children's Ward, Beaumont Hospital, would like to express their sincere gratitude and thanks to all the sponsors, supporters and to everyone who helped make this night such a success. Total amount raised on the night was €1,664.

South Roscommon Cycling Club
We are a recreational organization comprised of cycling enthusiasts with a wide range of abilities and interests. We have training rides leaving Clann na nGael clubhouse at 9 am every Sunday. These rides range from 20- 30km for beginners, to 70km-120km for the elite.​ ​Contact Joe 0868443408. Also, Tour de South Roscommon - annual charity cycle for members and non members of the South Roscommon Cycling Club. This years charity is Irish Pilgrimage Trust and ​the cycle will take place on Saturday 13th June, like us on ​F​acebook for more information.

Diocesan Celebration of Marriages
Will be celebrated on Sunday 28th June at 3pm in Ss Peter's & Paul’s Church. Bishop Kevin Doran will be the main celebrant at the mass for the Jubilee of Marriages. Any couple wishing to take part in this celebration please contact the parish office by Friday 15th May so that the organising committee can finalise the arrangements for the couples and their families who wish to attend.

Aware
Did you know that 1 in 10 people in Ireland experience depression? If you are dealing with depression, stress or anxiety, come along to Athlone Support Group meeting every Thursday at 8pm in St. Kieran's Community Centre, Tormey Villas. The meeting is free and no referral or sign-up is required. You are not alone.

Carer required
A caring, responsible, flexible person is required in Athlone town to support people with Intellectual Disabilities. This is a very worthwhile & rewarding role which adds benefit to the lives of others. Accredited training will be provided. Eligibility criteria will apply.
