U-14 Championship
The U-14 team defeated Boyle in the first championship match in the group stages last Thursday in Johnstown. Clann got off to a good start with points from Rian McNamara and James McManus but by the 20th minute they trailed by 4 points before a penalty from Ruadhri McManus put them back in the game and left the half-time score 1-5 to 0-8. Clann got off to a good start in the 2nd half with a goal and two points before Boyle scored 2 goals to go 2 points ahead. Goals from Ultan Harney and James McManus put Clann back in the driving seat and they outscored Boyle five points to one in the last seven minutes to end this rollercoaster of a match. It was a day that everybody played their part, a solid defence and seven different players getting on the scoresheet. They now play Castlerea next Thursday in Castlerea.
Team: Kevin Molloy, Patrick Harney, Steve Flynn, Shane Petit, Martin Costello, Paul Mannion, Oliver O'Neill, Ruadhri McManus, Darragh Petit, Shane Lennon, Ultan Harney, Malcolm Dalton, Eoin Forde, James McManus, Rian McNamara. Subs used Cian Cunniffe, Darragh Golden, Dylan Carberry.

Summer Camp
Luckily the weather stayed dry most of the week, but even bad weather would not have dampened the enthusiasm of the more than fifty kids who took part in the summer camp last week. At the start of the week every child got a Clann jersey along with socks and shorts and those jerseys didn't come off for the whole week, of what was a very successful camp.

Feile Finals in Cavan
Last Friday morning the U-14 girls left Johnstown for the Feile Finals in Cavan. They played their first match Friday afternoon defeating the host club Laragh easily. On early Saturday morning they also light work of another Cavan team Drumlane and then faced Armagh Harps in the group showdown at noon. The Clann girls produced another great performance winning comfortably. Altogether in the three group matches, they only conceded five points. So Saturday evening in Kilnaleck, they faced Cahir from Tipperary and despite lots of early possession the Clann girls were hit with  two goals against the run of play. Clann pushed forward looking for the crucial scores in the second half but a physically stronger Cahir team punished any breakdown in attack and deservingly ran out winners. Cahir were eventually beaten in the final by a Arklow team who were probably the most impressive team in Cavan over the weekend. Clann would like to pay tribute to their excellent hosts Laragh who sang their hearts out in support of Clann in the semi-final and also provided any amount of food and refreshments to players and supporters alike, over the weekend. Also congratulations to Gillian Wall who won her way through to the skills final over the weekend but luck deserted her in the final. All in all it was an excellent weekend, and thanks to the girls, mentors, management, supporters and fundraisers and sponsors who made it all possible.

The U-10 girls performed excellently last week against Four Roads. The next round is against Padraig Pearses in Johnstown on Tuesday evening. Roscommon Intermediate Ladies had a big win over Clare in the championship in Johnstown on Sunday. An interesting spectator was Davy Fitzgerald, the Waterford manager who was in good form after their comfortable win over Antrim the previous day.
