Clann na nGael Notes

Club Social
The annual club night out will take place on Friday night at 8pm in the clubhouse. Friday night will be the first of many days and nights celebrating the 75th anniversary of Clann na nGael. Music will be provided by the Coyles and there will be many spot prizes. Admission is free. There will be finger food and lots of craic. Arrive early to avoid missing any surprises. The early bird catches the worm!

Competitive Action
Competitive action gets underway this coming weekend with the Junior A team hosting Western Gaels in the Tansey cup and the minors are taking on Boyle. Supporters are asked to keep an eye on the Roscommon fixture for time and dates of the above games.

Courses
  • Code of Ethics - Roscommon Sports Partnership are running a Code of Ethics course on Tuesday 1st March from 7-1opm in the VEC offices, Roscommon. Cost: €10 per person. Certificates will be awarded on the night. There are limited vacancies.
  • First Aid / Sports Injuries Course - This course is limited to 12-14 persons and runs for 6 hours on a Saturday costing €45-€50 per person. If there is sufficient numbers the County Board will run this course ASAP.
  • Grab Your Whistle - Can anyone interested in becoming a referee please put your name forward as soon as possible so that names can be given to County Board and a course may be organised.
  • Fundamentals Course (Ladies football) - Anybody interested in doing a fundamentals course in coaching, can you please put your name forward. There is a need to know numbers before course can be organised.
Could anyone interested in any of the above courses, please inform Cliona Dunning, Ladies Secretary (085167210 or e-mail cliona.dunning@hotmail.co.uk) as soon as possible, as places are limited and some courses will kick off as soon as there are sufficient numbers.

Under 16 Ladies
Under 16 ladies had a good start to the championship on Sunday 20th when they played Western Gaels at home. Clann came out winners on a scoreline of 4-12 to 2-6. Next game in two weeks time.

Ladies Gaelic for beginners/mums
Great turnout for Gaelic for mums/beginners on Wednesday night last. Continues this Wednesday at 8.30pm. New members welcome.
