Christmas Greetings from Drum

Nollaig shona agus athbhliain faoi mhaise do mhuintir an Droma, sa bhaile agus ar fud an domhain.

Wishing the people of Drum, at home and abroad, a happy and holy Christmas and new year.

Remember...

  • Remember and pray for the sick of the Parish especially those who cannot be with us today, those at home or in hospital.
  • Remember and pray for the members of our community who have died during the year. We remember also anyone who has lost a loved one.
  • Remember a neighbour or friend who is alone, don't forget to look in on them... it would mean so much to them.

Drum Church Window Repairs

Harvest Collection
Envelopes are available and being distributed from this weekend for the Harvest Collection which will take place next Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th October for support of the parish clergy. The priests' salaries are paid out of the 'number 2' account, which is financed from just 3 collections in the year - Christmas, Easter and Pentecost. The ordinary Sunday collections throughout the year have no connection with priests' income and go towards paying bills, such as insurance, heat, light, staff salaries, candles, altar wine, altar breads, etc. As it takes €77,000 to pay the salaries of 4 priests for the year (1 x €20,000 and 3 x €19,000) there is an inevitable shortfall and the 'number 2' account is overdrawn in September each year. It is with reluctance, therefore, that we are forced to add an extra Harvest Collection. We are concious of the present economic difficulties but we trust in your generosity.
