Drum/Clonown Community Games
Church gate collection will take place on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th April. Please support.

Clonown 10K Run and Walk
The 4th annual 10K run/walk will take place in Clonown on Sunday 28th April. A generous prize fund exists and there will be spot prizes on the day. The same 10K route will be used as last year but in reverse order, which means the finishing line will be at the community centre, where the renowned tea, sandwiches and hospitality will be available after the race. The routes are very flat through beautiful countryside and are ideal for those aiming for a personal best or those completing their first 5k or 10k run. Starting times as follows: 1.30pm for 10K walk; 2.30pm for 5K run; 3pm for 10k run. Please allow at least 30 minutes to register before the start. Forms are available at the back of the church. Please complete the form and return it to Drum Parish Office as soon as possible.

Book Signing - Twice a Hero
The life and tragic death of Brigadier General George Adamson, 1897-1925, twice a hero of the great War, the war of independence in the heart of the Irish midlands. The author Phil Tomkins will attend a book signing in the Aidan Heavey Library, Athlone on Thursday 25th April from 10am to 4pm. Some books will be available for purchase on the day. This book will be of interest to the people of Drum and Clonown.

Book Launch - St. Brigid's Hospital History
Ballinasloe Active Retirement Association invite you to the launch of St. Brigid's Hospital History 1833-2011 by Jim Crehan. Launch on Friday 26th April at 7.30pm in Gullane's Hotel, Ballinasloe.

Strictly Fun Dancing
St. Joseph's FC and Bealnaumlla LFC are holding an event not to be missed. Strictly Fun Dancing takes place on Friday 26th April at 7.30pm in the Athlone Springs Hotel, Monksland. 28 local dancers and celebrity judges. Tickets €20 must be purchased in advance from hotel reception. Please support.

Athlone Credit Union, Monksland
Monksland branch is open longer and later. Open from 9am to 4.30pm Tuesday to Friday, with late opening until 6.45pm on Thursday. Open Saturday 9.30am to 1.45pm.

Cycle for Fun
In association with Roscommon Sports Partnership. Training every Sunday morning at 10am sharp from Clann na nGael club house, Johnstown. All ages catered for.
