Holy Hour
There will be a Holy Hour on Tuesday 8th October at 8pm in St. Brigid's Church, Drum.

Harvest Collection
Envelopes are available at the back of all churches and should be returned next weekend, Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th October. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Autumn Stations
Anyone who would like to host the stations in their home this autumn is asked to contact Drum Parish Office at 6437125 to arrange a date. This is a lovely tradition which has been passed down through generations in our parish but would seem to be in decline in recent times. Perhaps you would consider hosting the station mass for your area to ensure the tradition continues for another generation, or to revive the tradition if it has declined in your area/townland.

McManus Gathering DVD
DVD of the recent McManus Gathering at Nure and Ardnanure now available at Drum Heritage Centre, weekdays 9.30am-2.30pm. Cost €10.

Card Game
Every Monday night at 9pm in Clann na nGael Clubhouse, Johnstown.

Drum Parent and Toddler Group
Every Tuesday in Drum Parish Hall at 10.00am. All welcome.

Drum Community Centre

Change of Mass times
Please note the revised Sunday Mass times in Ss. Peter & Paul's Church, commencing this Sunday 6th October 2013. Mass will be at 10.00am and 11.30am on Sunday, while the Vigil Mass will continue to be at 6.30am on Saturday. Also, Baptisms will take place on Saturdays at 2pm in future.

Permanent Diaconate
The Diocese of Elphin is now accepting final applications from married and single men who may feel called to ministry as Permanent Deacons. The four year part-time training programme will begin in November 2013. For further information or a conversation around the topic please contact the Director of the Permanent Diaconate, St. Mary's, Sligo on 071-9162670 or visit 'Vocations' on www.elphindiocese.ie. Final closing date for applications is Friday 18th October. The next intake of candidates will be in 2019.

Harvest Service
Athlone Methodist Church invite you to their annual Harvest Service on this Sunday 6th October at 7.30pm. The preacher will be Fr. John Nally, Ballynacarrighy. Refreshments and chat afterwards.

Mental Health Awareness Week
PCI College presents a free workshop on Relationships and Mental Health in the Radisson Hotel on Wednesday 9th October at 6.30pm.

Athlone Little Theatre
Next production is the wonderful period drama ‘The Heiress’ set in New York society, running from Friday 11th to Friday 18th October at 8.30pm. Booking contact 6474324. All proceeds to St. Mel's Diocesan Trust in aid of their rebuilding of the Cathedral.

New Bishop of Ardagh & Clonmacnoise
The ordination of Fr. Francis Duffy as Bishop of the Diocese of Ardagh & Clonmacnoise will take place in St Mary’s Church, Athlone at 3pm this Sunday 6th October. The church has served as a Pro-Cathedral for the diocese since the destruction of St. Mel’s Cathedral, Longford by fire in 2009.The ordination ceremony will be streamed live on the diocesan website www.ardaghdiocese.com and will be broadcast live on Shannonside Radio.

Masses in St. Mary's Church this weekend
Bishop Ray Browne, recently ordained Bishop of Kerry and native of Athlone, will be the celebrant of the 11.30am Mass in St. Mary's on Sunday 6th October. There will be no 12.45pm Mass in St. Mary's. The 6pm Mass will transfer to Coosan Church. These changes are being made to facilitate the Ordination ceremony at 3pm.
