Feile Boys Final
Clann na nGael 4-07 Padraig Pearses 3-12
Commiserations to the U-14's lads who narrowly missed out in getting to the national finals, by virtue of a narrow defeat to Padraig Pearses. The match finished in a welter of excitement as time ran out on Clann as they tried to claw back a massive lead by Pearses at half-time. Clann were first to register a score as Darragh Petit ran through to point within seconds of the throw-in, but a very polished Pearses team soon ran in the scores and at half-time they lead by eleven points, 3-8 to 1-3. Pearses even increased their lead to twelve points early in 2nd half before a magnificent Clann fightback. A Darragh Petit goal and points from Rudhrai McManus and Michael Hardiman reduced the arrears but Pearses added a couple more points before Owen Forde pointed for Clann. When Rian McNamara sent over a great cross which substitute Malcolm O'Hanlon volleyed to the back of net, the comeback was on and both sets of supporters became very vocal. Darragh Petit set off a run and when a couple of Pearses defenders robbed him of possession but he let fly off the ground from about 20 yards out and the ball flew past the keeper to set up a grandstand finish. A Ruadrai McManus free at the end of normal time reduced the arrears to the bare minimum but credit to Pearses that when all the momentum was against them they put a move together to score the last point of the game deep into injury time. This was a great game with the whole Clann team putting their shoulder to the wheel and showing great belief in the 2nd half which augers well for the championship. Clann had many heroes with Martin Costelloe, James McManus when switched and substitute Oliver O'Neill excelling at the back, Darragh Petit, Owen Forde, Rian McNamara, Rudhrai McManus all playing a large part in a team performance but a special mention for Paul Mannion who put in a tremendous performance all through the game. The management team of Eamon Harney, Gerry Petit and Joe Fallon deserve great credit for the performance and discipline of the lads.

Feile Girls Final
Clann na nGael 1-6 St Brigids 1-0
The Thomas Nolan & Co sponsored U-14 girls defeated St Bridgets on Wednesday evening in Kiltoom to book their place at the national finals in Cavan. This game was played in dry but bitter cold conditions, with a strong wind which favoured Clann in the first half. It was a half which Clann dominated with lots of possession but found it difficult to put the scores on the board. However points from Rebecca Naughton, Kayleigh Dunning, Orla O'Neill and Aileen McEvilly soon settled them. Clann's midfield of Orla O'Neill and Katie Rock along with half backs Gillian Wall, Louise Curley and Ellen Harney were the launchpad of many attacks and and finally one these resulted in a goal from substitute Karen Nicholson. The half-time score was Clann 1-06 to no score for St Brigids. Clann faced into a wind on the resumption which stiffened as the game wore on. Ciara Galvin and Ciara Costelloe were outstanding in defence with Rebecca Naughton covering every inch of the pitch. Clann celebrated the win on referee's Ray Burke's final whistle and Captain Ellen Harney accepted the Shield on behalf of the team. Congratulations to their managers Kevin Naughton and Terry O'Neill and all that helped out in preparing the team. The National Finals will be played on the weekend 4th, 5th and 6th July.
