It is with deep sadness we have learned of the death of our friend and colleague, Christy Bigley. He passed away on Thursday 30 July 2009. Christy was a founding member of Drum Community Sports and Social Centre Ltd. He gave tirelessly of himself over the years to the building and running of the centre. Christy was an active member of the local community and a patron of the arts.
Reposing at his residence, Crannaghbeg, Summerhill today, Friday. Funeral Mass tomorrow, Saturday morning, at 11am in St. Bridget's Church, Drum. Burial afterwards in Drum Cemetery. Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, to the St. Vincent de Paul.
As a mark of respect, Drum Parish Bingo will not go ahead this Friday night, 31 July 2009 at Drum Community Centre. Bingo returns as normal next Friday, 7th August at 8.30pm.
