Autumn Stations
Anyone who would like to host the stations in their home this autumn is asked to contact Drum Parish Office at 6437125 to arrange a date. This is a lovely tradition which has been passed down through generations in our parish but would seem to be in decline in recent times. Perhaps you would consider hosting the station mass for your area to ensure the tradition continues for another generation.

Knock Novena
National Public Novena in honour of Our Lady of Knock takes place from 14th-22nd August. Twice daily at 3pm and 8.30pm. (2.30pm on Sunday). Full details and live webstream available on www.knock-shrine.ie/novena2012

Elphin Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock
Annual Pilgrimage takes place on Sunday 19th August during the Novena. Ceremonies began at 2.30pm with Anointing of the Sick followed by Mass at 3pm with chief celebrant Bishop Christy Jones. Theme: Eucharist and Life. A bus to Knock will be leaving Ss. Peter & Paul's Church at 10.30am. Booking essential. Contact 086-1960256.

Passionfruit Theatre presents...
Roscommon flute player John Wynne and friends on Thursday 16th August at 7pm. Admission €7 or €5 concession. No booking necessary. Suitable for all the family. Young children free of charge.

St. Joseph's Soccer Club
Registration and Fun Day in Cushla Park, Monksland on Saturday, 18th August. Kick off 11am-1pm. For players age 7-17 years. New players welcome.

Creative Art Camp
Games, Art, Clay, Stories, Puppets, Drama. Monday 20 - Friday 24 August 2012, 11am-2pm daily in Drum Community Centre. Cost €50. Booking necessary, places limited. Contact Evelyn 085-8195820.

Monksland Multi-Activity Camp
Monday 20 - Friday 24 August 2012, 10am-1pm daily at Cushla Park, Monksland. Cost €20 per child aged 6-12 years. Registration on Sunday 19th from 7-8pm at Monksland Community Centre. For enquiries contact Turloch 087-7942677. This camp is taking place in conjunction with the FAI and Roscommon Sports Partnership.

Pieta House West - Charity Cycle
A cycle will take place on Saturday 25th August from Galway to Johnstown. Anyone who wishes to take part in this event or support this worthy cause can get sponsorship cards from: Paddy 087-2487340, Joe 086-2670012 or Pádraig 085-2889025. Cycle training every Sunday morning from Clann na nGael, Johnstown at 9am sharp.

Drum Heritage Group Open Day
As part of national Heritage Week, a heritage show case of Traditional Crafts and Customs replicating the way of life of a rural community in ancient Ireland will be held in Drum Heritage Visitor Centre and adjoining Parish Hall on Saturday 25th August 2012, commencing at 2pm and opening with the launch of the only working model of an Early Medieval Horizontal Water Driven Corn Mill, showing revolving water wheel vanes (paddles) and millstones, mill pond, sluices, mill-race, tail-race and set in period landscaping.
