Mid South Division 4 League
Clann na nGael 0-12 St Brigids 0-10
Clann defeated St Brigids in a tough encounter in Johnstown on Friday evening last. This was a close contest all through, with Clann just shading it at the interval by a point on a score line of 0-6 to 0-5 with points from Enda Kenny, Keith O'Neill and Niall Lennon. Enda Kenny continued in his rich vain of form with three more frees in second half with the winning scores coming from Niall Lennon and Paul Murray. There were some fine performances from Niall Kennedy, Cormac Harney and Keith Kildea at the back, Kevin Conneely when introduced and Graham Petit showed very well as a target man at full forward.
Team: Ray Griffin, Keith Kildea, Niall Kennedy, Shane Gavin, Cormac Harney, Emmet O'Connor, Morgan Keena, Michael Haugh, Colin Nicholson, Conor Duignan, Enda Kenny (0-6), Niall Lennon (0-3), Keith O'Neill (0-2), Graham Petit, Sean Walsh. Ladies U-14 Championship Semi-Final
Clann na nGael 2-08 St Brigids 1-03
Clann qualified for the county final after a hard fought win over neighbours St Brigid played under a hot midday sun on the bank holiday Monday. St Brigids started well and soon lead by a goal to a point but by the 15th minute Clann had equalised with points from Kayleigh Dunning and Rebecca Naughton. Jennifer Duignan put Clann in the lead before an Orla O'Neill goal left Clann leading by 4 points at the break. Karen Nicholson and Rebecca scored further points but Brigids kept plugging away and reduced the lead to 3 points with 3 frees but Ciara Galvin and the Clann defence as a whole were giving little away. A Karen Nicholson free and another Rebecca Naughton point gave Clann the breathing space of a 5 point lead before Kayleigh Dunning fired home a late goal to finish the game as a contest. For the second year in a row Clann will face St Marys in the U-14 final, with Clann looking for revenge after losing narrowly in a replay last year.
Team: Leanne O'Connor, Deirdre Ward, Ciara Galvin, Ciara Costelloe, Katie Rock, Gillian Wall, Louise Curley, Rebecca Naughton (0-3), Orla O'Neill (1-0), Anna Shine, Kayleigh Dunning (1-2), Grace Naughton, Karen Nicholson (0-2), Jennifer Duignan (0-1), Gemma Nicholson. Subs Saoirse McManus, Melissa Glynn, Hazel Menton, Aoibhin Golden and Kirsty Warby.

Congratulations to the Clann girls and mentors involved in the Roscommon U-14 squad who won the Connacht B championship on Saturday evening in Claremorris against Mayo.

Minor League
Clann na nGael 0-12 Padraig Pearses 0-12
Clann minors earned a good draw with Pearses in Woodmount on Monday. Pearses got off to a good start and soon lead by 5 points to 1 mainly through the excellent free taking of Aaron Feehily who landed 6 frees in total. Darragh Lennon was equally adept at free taking and pulled two back for Clann along with a Conor Warde point from play to leave the scores at 0-6 to 0-4 in favour of Pearses. Clann started the second half with the breeze on their backs and 2 points from Darragh Lennon restored parity. From that to the end it was tit for tat with Darragh Lennon showing the way when moved into full forward and scoring 4 further points from play. Another point from Donal Beirne put Clann into the lead near the end but Pearses equalised. Cathal Shine who was instrumental in Clann's comeback, when moved to midfield, had to leave the game after a late tackle left him injured. Clann rested some of their U-16 players who are involved in the final next Sunday against the same opposition. Incidentally both clubs play each other at 4 different grades this week.
Team: Thomas Keogh, Keith Kildea, Cathal Duignan, Cathal Hannon, Niall O'Connor, Cormac Harney, Andy McNamara, Kevin Naughton, Owen Connaughton, Donal Beirne (0-1), Daragh Lennon (0-9, 4frees), Cathal Cunniffe, Martin Lennon, Cathal Shine (0-1), Conor Warde (0-1). Subs Robert Egan, Conor Duignan and Francis McManus.
