Clann na nGael Notes

Australia coming to Johnstown
Sunday next will be a historic day for Clann na nGael when Ireland's finest take on Australia's finest in the Masters International Rules Series. Johnstown has hosted many big game in the club's illustrious past and this international game is a major event just as the redevelopment of the club's facilities in Johnstown has reached its target.

Players representing Ireland include Kevin O'Brien (Wicklow), Peter Whitnell (Down), Joe McNally and Paul Curran from Dublin. Some former stars of Australian football such as John Fitzgerald, Sean Smyth and Terry Donagher will be in action for the men from down under.

There will be two games on Sunday; the B game will throw in at 2.30pm while the A game will throw in at 4.30pm.

As this is the first international game to take place a large crowd is expected to turn out and support Ireland and Clann on the day. The club would like to invite all Australians in the region to Johnstown on Sunday. For details you can contact any member of the committee.

Also, stewards etc will be required on the day. Please contact any member of the committee if you can help out.

Under 21 Championship
The under 21s will finally get their teeth into champions action on Saturday when they take on Castlerea. This will a tough opener for the lads on Saturday so a large crowd is needed to give them some support. Throw in is at 4.30pm in Castlerea.
